String Principal Auditions
Auditions will be held for the PSYO Principal String Seat on October 21 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. after the PSYO regular rehearsal from 2-4 p.m. Concert pieces have already been provided to the students and excerpts from those pieces will be used for the pricipal placement auditions. The following will be used:
Violin I – The last 3 measures of The Swan & measures 71-110 of Symphony 5
Violin II – The last 3 measures of The Swan & measures 26-56 of Symphony 5
Viola – measures 27-56 of Symphony 5
Cello – The Swan
Bass – Ruslan & Ludmila – The original music for orchestra auditions
PSYO Wind/Percussion Auditions
Admittance auditions for the wind and percussion sections for the PSYO will be held on October 28 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Paducah Tilghman High School. Students who wish to audition are encouraged to arrive at 3 p.m. to sign up. The music to be performed during the audition will be the official All-State Band music that was disseminated earlier in the year.

Auditions for the PSYO were held in August/September of 2012 in two groups: The Youth Orchestra for advanced players and the Sinfonia for beginners. Click the corresponding ensemble and instrument below to view audition requirements and music.
