Personent Hodie is a festival/processional arrangement of a 14th century Latin Christmas carol. The original hymn was published in a Finnish song book in 1582. The hymn became popular in England after an arrangement by Gustav Holst was published in 1916. Holst’s version was primarily used as a church processional.
